About Gino Guarnere

Man, where do you start when you have to write about yourself?

If you found me, I’m happy you’re here. Let’s see…how did I get here? Well, as you can see I shoot photography, but came to it from shooting video. I came to video from designing websites, and I came to designing websites from being a classically trained musician. My lineage as a visual and creative artist goes back, therefore, to when I was around five.

I shoot event photography, which includes action sports, weddings, and corporate events. I shoot portraiture, and I do quite a bit of landscape and HDR photography. I take a camera with me everywhere I go. In 2009, I will have shot over 80,000 photos. Those 80,000 photos include shots taken with my Canons, Nikons, Iphone, you name it. If it takes pictures, I’ll use it.

Style

My photography is about color when it comes to composition. In terms of the way I shoot, I’ve been called photojournalistic with a traditional flair, which boils down to this: I shoot unobtrusively, unless the shot requires me to do otherwise. I work quickly and efficiently, and make the brides feel comfortable and natural, which counts for a lot on wedding day. If there’s a piano anywhere close to where I’m taking pictures, you can bet I will play it. Having a band at your event? Invite me up. You might just be surprised…

Recently…

I shot the Back on My Feet 20in24 Race Weekend, and a number of other local half marathons and 5ks. I also provided event coverage to Jake Bergey’s Wings Lacrosse Camp.

As a freelancer, I’ve been part of the event photography staff for the Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon, The Danskin/Sherox Triathlons (Philadelphia and Sandy Hooks), The Army 10 miler in Washington, DC, and the IPTMAN Triathlon in Darien, Connecticut. Kicking off 2010, I’ll be part of the official event photography staff for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January, 2010, Orlando. Lastly, I was thrilled to be the grand prize winner in The Catholic Company’s First Annual Holy Communion Photography Contest, which was a national effort.
